About Me
I was born and raised in Issaquah, WA & I am the daughter of immigrants from the Philippines. Having grown up in Washington, I have a deep love for the outdoors and have always felt very connected to nature (I also drink lots of coffee!). I have a cute, but occasionally feisty, chihuahua/pitbull named Benny and Mexican food is my absolute favorite. I have a professional background in the environmental field but eventually found my passion for youth empowerment work. Some of my other interests include sketching, boxing, yoga, antique wares, organizing & advocating for the liberation of marginalized communities, building community, and spending quality time with the people I love.
Why I work at PIE
I believe that refugees and immigrants deserve access to opportunities that allow them to actualize a life they’ve always dreamed of. Working with one of our youth programs, I am able to thoughtfully uplift and hold youth through challenging losses but I also get to celebrate many of their extraordinary wins, which inspires me every day. Being able to support our refugee youth in finding their confidence and opening their eyes to the world of possibilities that are out there for them is why I work at Partner in Employment.
