PIE’s Refugee Youth Mentorship Program helps Immigrant and Refugee young adults ages 18 to 24 to find jobs, skills trainings, and educational opportunities through deep mentorship and employment assistance.
Young people receive skills training, education services, and case management to deepen education and employment opportunities and ensure a pathway for school to life success. Culturally responsive programming and mentorship helps connect youth to critical systems, their community, resources, and living wage jobs to promote social and economic stability as they settle into a new country.
The program matches a community-based mentor in a one-to-one relationship with our clients so these young people will have someone to seek advice in achieving education and career development goals, as well as promoting interpersonal and social-emotional skills. Mentors play a crucial role in confidence building through patience, positivity, encouragement, and dedication, leaving a lifelong impact on a young person.
Mentor Expectations: At least 3-month commitment, weekly touch point virtual contacts, monthly virtual and/or in person meetings, participate in monthly match events. Flexible, set your own schedules!
We currently have many youth who have yet to be matched with a mentor, and who could use some critical support in this time of transition so your participation would be greatly appreciated!
